Set in a Grade I listed mansion remodelled by Robert Adam in
the 1760s, Compton Verney offers a unique art gallery
experience. You can also enjoy and explore the 120 acres
of ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped parkland which it
stands in. The gallery houses a growing collection on
nationally and internationally significant art from around
the world including: paintings from the 'Golden Age' of
Neapolitan art (1600-1800), Northern European art from
(1450-1650) by Cranach and Schongauer; British

I've found many excuses to visit Compton Verney, e.g. a venue to meet friends, to see an exhibition. Not to mention the food as an excuse! I'd walk from Faringdon to CV just for the venison sausages with onion gravy. And I always leave CV having had yet another very enjoyable day.
