Roger Hodgson, one of the most gifted composers, songwriters and lyricists of our time, is best known as the co-founder of the progressive rock band Supertramp, which he co-founded in 1969. Hodgson helped define a generation of progressive rock. His trademark way of setting introspective lyrics to upbeat melodies has found its way into the hearts of over three generations around the world. 
 


Hodgson’s songs are deeply personal pieces of his heart and soul. While he and the other co-founder shared writing credit, they each actually wrote and composed separately. While everyone knows Roger’s songs, not everyone knows his name. It is clear that Roger Hodgson is not only the signature voice but also the spiritual force behind the songs that have become the soundtrack of our lives. Evergreen classics such as “Dreamer,” “Give a Little Bit,” “Take the Long Way Home,” “Breakfast in America,” “The Logical Song,” “It’s Raining Again,” “School,” “Fool’s Overture,” and so many more.

In the 14 years that Hodgson led Supertramp prior to his departure in 1983, the band had album sales of over 60 million. The album, “Breakfast in America,” released in 1979, which went on to sell over 20 million copies and remained on the charts worldwide for over a year.

Roger received an award for his song, “The Logicial Song,” being one of the most performed songs in the 2005 ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) repertory. In 2007, he received this award again for a remake of “Breakfast in America.” Roger has donated his time and signature song “Give a Little Bit” to help raise funds for Tsunami Relief, Red Cross, UNICEF, World Vision, Hurricane Katrina efforts and other worthy causes.

Roger released his first ever DVD in 2006 from one of his live solo concerts in Canada. “Take The Long Way Home – Live in Montreal” went Platinum in just seven weeks and hit #1 in all of Canada and is now multi-Platinum and Gold in France and Germany.

In 2011, Hodgson was honored by being named by Classic Rock Magazine as one of the 100 Greatest Songwriters of all time. His songs have a global following and continue to attract new fans year after year.
